My name is Eleanor and I am the Art Psychotherapist behind Creative Compass Art Therapy. I see people looking for therapy for a variety of reasons but have notable experience working with people affected by physical illness, particularly cancer, those receiving end of life care, and young people and young adult's who are struggling with their mental health.
I offer art therapy sessions as a creative, non-judgmental space for you to explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences. You are able to use your sessions in a way that is going to be most helpful for you (something we can work out together if you are unsure). This may mean thinking about your past and present experiences, significant relationships, exploring thoughts and behaviours which you may be finding difficult, or simply creating the space to process what is on your mind and the things you have been through. You can use Art Psychotherapy sessions to make art, to talk, or both.
I hold a Masters in Art Psychotherapy, full membership with The British Association of Art Therapists and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Prior to qualifying as an art therapist I worked for almost 10 years in a variety of settings supporting people struggling with their mental and physical health. This included work within schools, NHS mental health services, the charity sector, hospitals, hospices and in the community. Since completing master's level training and qualifying in 2020 I have continued to link with local services as well as providing individual private therapy. I have specific experience working with the following issues:
